Each year our board of directors gather with partners and staff to deepen our faith and continuously improve our governance and programs to better serve our community. This year our board selected San Pedro Development Center for the venue and found the conference and meeting rooms, lodging and food services to be wonderful for us to gather in a spiritual place, grounding our work in our faith. Over the course of the day and half retreat and meetings, Father Ivan Olmo, our spiritual director, guided us on preparing to receive the Eucharist and recognizing the presence of the Lord in our work and lives. The Foundation team members shared pertinent program information and updated the board on the strategic plan implementation.
At the annual meeting we celebrated the years of service by Orlando Evora, former board chair, and John Kancilia, Treasurer, as their terms expired. We also thanked both Father John Giel and Father Richard Trout for their service on our board. The board elected Robert Kryger, parishioner of Resurrection, as Treasurer and Garrett Burke, parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen, to his first term on the board. It’s always good to get away from the busyness and reflect in a prayerful, peaceful environment. Thank you to our friends at San Pedro Center!
