CFOCF Sponsors Catholic Educators Celebration as a New School Year Begins
The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida was proud to sponsor the Diocese of Orlando’s 2026 Educator Kick-Off, held August 6 at the Rosen Centre in Orlando. The annual event brought together nearly 1,200 Catholic school educators as they prepared to begin another year of ministry and service. The Educator Kick-Off provides a meaningful opportunity for teachers and school leaders to come together for inspiration, faith formation, and professional development as they prepare to nurture the spiritual, academic, and moral growth of the students entrusted to their care. Through our sponsorship, The Catholic Foundation was honored to help provide speakers, faith formation, and professional resources that support our Catholic educators and, through them, the thousands of students they serve throughout Central…

We are especially grateful to our generous sponsors, Pathways Law, P.A., Pineda Law, PLLC, and ShuffieldLowman, as well as our wine donors,…
Five Common Misconceptions about Life Insurance with Thais Ayala
As a life insurance professional, I often meet families who want to plan responsibly but hesitate because life insurance can seem expensive, confusing, or like something to address later. This Life Insurance Awareness Month, I invite you to see it differently: as an expression of stewardship—protecting the people you love and extending generosity to the causes that matter most to you. 1. “I am young and healthy, so I do not need life insurance—and it is probably too expensive anyway.”The need for life insurance is not based on age alone. It is shaped by the people who depend on your income, outstanding debts, family responsibilities, and the legacy you hope to leave. Exploring coverage earlier in life may also provide…
Catholic Declaration on Life and Death Advance Directive
August is National Make-A-Will Month, an opportunity to take an important step in caring for yourself, your loved ones, and the legacy you hope to leave behind. While creating or updating a will is an essential part of estate planning, it’s only one piece of a comprehensive plan. One often-overlooked document is the Catholic Declaration on Life and Death, a health care advance directive approved by the Florida Catholic Conference. This document allows you to designate a health care surrogate and provide guidance for medical decisions if you become unable to speak for yourself. It affirms the dignity of every human life, encourages appropriate medical care, rejects euthanasia and assisted suicide, and expresses your desire to receive spiritual care and…
