The Catholic Foundation is partnering with Catholic Charities to bring joy to refugee children through a special Christmas Gift Drive. Each of our staff members chose a child to sponsor from the Catholic Charities Refugee Youth Program and will ensure that child receives a gift from their Christmas list.
The Refugee Youth Program serves refugees up to 18-years-old who recently arrived in the United States with their families. Most refugee families have endured great trauma, as they fled their home for safety here. This drive is a way to extend hope, love, and joy to these families during this Christmas season.
In Matthew 25:40, Jesus said “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Kim Latt, Case Manager at the Refugee Youth Group, says her favorite part of participating in this drive is knowing that you are making someone happy.
Latt invites people to get involved not only by gifting, but also by coming guardian angels. These angels help their refugees become good citizens of their new home. Latt says this involves helping them learn English, improve their grades, or even help them make friends.
Whether through donating, volunteering, or becoming an angel, every contribution helps make a difference.

May you and your families have a blessed Christmas.
