On March 3rd, the Church joyfully celebrated the Feast Day of St. Katharine Drexel, patron saint of philanthropy and patron saint of CFOCF.
St. Katharine Drexel is a model of fearless generosity and complete trust in God to tend to her needs. Rather than indulging in the massive inheritance she received from her family, she chose to invest in heavenly treasures. Every cent of her inheritance went towards furthering the model of Christ’s charity, and St. Katharine Drexel subsequently took a vow of poverty. We seek St. Katharine Drexel’s great joy and hope that she found in returning her earthly treasures to our God through her care of the poor, and through our mission, we desire to gather our Diocese in sharing the heavenly treasures that were merited to her.
If you would like to join us in the joy of philanthropy, make a gift and join the St. Katharine Drexel Society here: cfocf.org/foundation.
Join us in our prayer to bring Christ’s most beloved Church to the fullness of charity:
St. Katharine Drexel, pray for us!
Heavenly Father, You are the giver of life and everything we have is a gift from you. You have shown us your infinite generosity by giving us Your son, Jesus Christ. You inspired St. Katharine Drexel to dedicate her life and selflessly share her treasures with those in need. May her example help us to be faithful stewards of your abundant gifts. Teach us to be cheerful and grateful givers, so we can bring our Church spread throughout the world to its fullness of charity. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
