Donor Services & Events Coordinator

I joined The Catholic Foundation in April 2016, when my husband and I moved from Colorado Springs to Central Florida. My husband, Deacon Dave, currently serves as the Director of Permanent Diaconate for the Diocese of Orlando.

My role as Donor Services & Events Coordinator inspires me to bring the Good News to God’s people. My team’s commitment and effort to cultivate and nurture meaningful relationships have been my source of inspiration. As we continue to discover every donor’s stories, I can’t help but be touched by their generosity.  To those who have been contemplating making a gift but are overwhelmed by the thought that what they have to offer will not make an impact, I ask that you consider the story of the Widow’s mite – a gift given with a grateful heart is more valuable than the size of the gift. I remind myself that no matter how small my gift is, I pray that it will help those who are in need.

I have always valued the importance of a good education, and both my husband and I share this passion. Teaching the youth to develop the ability to express themselves allows them to ‘find their voice’ and speak confidently in any given situation. This passion motivated us to start and volunteer our time as Speech and Debate coaches, first in Colorado, and now at Bishop Moore Catholic High School.

Having lived in three beautiful states – California, Colorado, and Florida has allowed me to visit and explore the wonderful sites that each state has to offer. My love for travel led to my decision to purchase a travel agency, and I’m always excited to help people plan their dream vacations.

What led you to join the Catholic Foundation team?

Divine intervention – I was looking for a job in Central Florida to join my husband and had applied to numerous companies before I was led to the Catholic Foundation. They were seeking to hire someone who essentially matched my current role at the Diocese of Colorado Springs. Additionally, when my director learned about this opportunity, she mentioned that she happened to know the CEO of the Foundation at that time. As I reflect on this, perhaps God wanted me to continue the work I started 15 years ago in Colorado and keep serving Him and His mission just in a different location.

Faces of Philanthropy Q & A with Rosie Camous:

Q: Is there a program or initiative that’s especially meaningful to you?

A: The Women’s Philanthropic Giving Circle is an initiative that provides funding to organizations that address the needs of the Central Florida community. This wonderful group of faith-filled and like-minded women, with their combined financial resources, makes an impact by providing funding for services that are needed within the community. Their commitment and dedication bring hope and help make a positive impact on those in need.

Q: If you could tell donors one thing, what would it be?

A: A gift, no matter how small, when it comes from the heart and is given joyfully, matters greatly to God.

Q: What’s your favorite Scripture verse, quote, or saint?

A:  St. Teresa (Mother Teresa) of Calcutta, who dedicated her life to bringing hope and love in serving the poor. She spoke from the heart on things that matter the most – faith, kindness, love, and peace.  Among her numerous quotes that she has written, my favorite one is on prayer.

“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depths of our hearts.”
