Josh is an Insurance Sales Executive with HUB International Florida. He has an extensive background assisting individuals and families with strategic planning discussions. Josh now focuses in the area of Employee Group Benefits.

Josh is a proud member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and School community, where his family’s roots run deep. He and his wife Jennifer, a proud Bishop Moore Class of 1993 alumna, have three children. His oldest daughter is currently at LSU, his son attends Bishop Moore, and his youngest daughter will be joining him there as a freshman next year. Outside of work, Josh is an active youth soccer coach, investing his time in developing young athletes both on and off the field. When he’s not on the sideline, you’ll likely find him traveling, catching a soccer match or sporting event at any level, or simply enjoying quality time with family and friends, the things he values most.

Faces of Philanthropy Q & A with Josh Black:

Q: Please share a short quote that reflects why planned giving is important to you or your clients?

A: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill.

Q: What’s one misconception people often have about planned giving?

A: You don’t have to be a millionaire to make a difference. Many people assume planned giving is only for the wealthy, but the truth is that anyone with the desire to leave a lasting legacy can make a meaningful impact through thoughtful charitable planning, regardless of the size of their estate.

Q: Who taught you about giving or stewardship?

A: My wife Jennifer’s Grandfather, aka “Pops”, showed me what true selflessness and giving looks like. He was an extremely successful businessman with an incredible spirituality, and he was always looking for ways to give. His mission lives on today through the Andrew P. Caneza Foundation and he continues to change the lives of people around the world.

Q: What motivated you to join the Planned Giving Advisory Council?

A: I was motivated to join the PGAC through a friend and like-minded individual who inspired me to get more involved in the Catholic community from a philanthropic standpoint.
