Faces of Philanthropy Q & A with Lori Tolland:

Q: What is special about being a member of the Women’s Philanthropic Giving Circle.

A: Being a member of the giving circle is a unique and powerful experience. Collectively there can be meaningful change in a community. It provides a sense of sisterhood sharing purpose and values.   There is mutual inspiration and learning.   One’s heart grows to understand the needs of others and desire to serve.

I enjoy being surrounded by servant hearts, enriching my faith while serving others.

Q: Is there a Scripture, prayer, or saint that speaks to your giving journey?

The Gospel inspires giving.  The Beatitudes guide the faith filled person towards serving others.   Mother Teresa of Calcutta has been awe inspiring throughout her life and is my personal inspiration. Her selfless nature and dedication to the poor is admirable.

Q: What inspired you to join the Women’s Giving Circle?

A: The circle provides an opportunity to give with more impact due to it’s collective nature.   It also creates a stronger bond with others when giving collectively.   When one is part of a giving circle, you not only serve others with impact, you strengthen your own servant heart.

Q: What message would you share with women considering joining?

A: I would love to see the Women’s Giving Circle grow in members and thus financial impact. There are so many organizations in need.  I would encourage those desiring to strengthen their faith to prayerfully consider joining a women’s giving circle
