The Catholic Foundation is partnering with Catholic Charities to bring joy to refugee children through a special Christmas Gift Drive. Each of our staff members chose a child to sponsor from the Catholic Charities Refugee Youth Program and will ensure that child receives a gift from their Christmas list. The Refugee Youth Program serves refugees up to 18-years-old who recently arrived in the United States with their families. Most refugee families have endured great trauma, as they fled their home for safety here. This drive is a way to extend hope, love, and joy to these families during this Christmas season. PGAC Members Tour the New Cristo Rey Orlando High School
In November, our Planned Giving Advisory Council (PGAC) Members gathered at the newly established Cristo Rey High School in Orlando for their 2024 social Advisor event. The members got an exclusive tour of the school, showcasing the various facilities that Cristo Rey will provide. Cristo Rey High School is a unique educational institution that provides students from lower-income households with access to higher education. The school’s innovative model ensures students succeed by combining rigorous academics with real-world work experience. WPGC Retreat at San Pedro Spiritual Center
Members of the Women’s Philanthropic Giving Circle gathered at San Pedro Spiritual Center this month for a retreat led by the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary featuring presentations by Sister Maria Teresa Acosta SCTJM and Sister Kristi Bergman SCTJM. The retreat focused on the life of the first millennial saint, Blessed Carlo Acutis, and his devotion to the Eucharist and understanding of Eucharistic miracles. Sister Kristi led a presentation on the story of Blessed Carlo Acutis. She highlighted how his life and work resonate with young people today. Susan Rae Giacoletto, JD Parishioner at Our Lady of the Lakes Attorney at Law, Susan Giacoletto Law, LLC Susan Rae Giacoletto, JD became a Planned Giving Advisory Council (PGAC) member during this year’s Board Retreat. The PGAC is a group of experts whose goal is to help the Central Florida community realize their philanthropic goals. Board of Directors Annual Meeting and Retreat
Our Board of Directors gathered at San Pedro Spiritual Development Center in October for their Annual Board Meeting and Retreat. This retreat is an opportunity for spiritual reflection and planning for the year ahead. The Catholic Foundation’s Spiritual Advisor, Father Ivan Olmo enriched the retreat with a spiritual reflection as we enter The Year of Hope. He invited Board members to look beyond everyday aspirations and reflect on God’s will and deeper, more meaningful hopes for the upcoming year.
