I am the Founding President and CEO of Cristo Rey Orlando High School, a Catholic, college-preparatory school that integrates a Corporate Work Study Program to serve students from under-resourced communities in a Christ-centered environment. Over the past four years, I have led the school’s launch by building a mission-aligned leadership team, securing more than $41 million in philanthropic investments, enrolling our inaugural class of 120 students, and establishing partnerships with local employers. Previously, I served as Vice President of Bishop Moore Catholic High School and held multiple roles within the Diocese of Orlando. I hold a Master’s in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University in New Orleans and a B.A. in Psychology from Samford University. I believe every child should have access to a transformational environment with the tools to discover their God-given potential.

My husband Jason, and two adult children, Isabel & Sammy, are currently members of Annunciation Catholic Community and have also had the opportunity to call Holy Family and Resurrection in Lakeland our parish communities over the years. Historically, we have seen the impact of The Catholic Foundation in our diocese in education, missions, vocations, and through wraparound services that benefit the whole family.

Faces of Philanthropy Q & A with Amanda Livermore:

Q: What does it mean to you to give as a woman of faith?
A: As a woman of faith, generosity flows from relationship, first with God and then with the people and communities He places in my care. Giving is an act of love and trust that invites God to work through us for something greater than ourselves.

Q: Who inspired your approach to giving?

A: My parents have always been generous with time, talent, and treasure. They modeled what it means to see the greatest need in any situation and to respond joyfully and selflessly.

Q: How does your Catholic faith guide your philanthropy?

A: My Catholic faith shapes how I approach philanthropy by reminding me that every person has inherent dignity. Giving is not just about resources, but about relationship and responsibility to invest in the common good. It is my way of responding with gratitude to what God has entrusted to me.

Q: Is there a Scripture, prayer, or saint that speaks to your giving journey?

A: Saint Teresa said, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” Instead of getting paralyzed by how much need, there is in the world, she inspires me to give generously and personally to those who are right in front of me…and to trust that God will inspire others to do the same in their spheres of influence in every corner of the world.

Q: How is collaborative giving different than giving individually?

A: Collaborative giving recognizes that no one person has all the answers or resources. As Mother Teresa reminds us, “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.” Giving alongside other women allows us to pool not only our resources, but our wisdom, relationships, and lived experience, creating a deeper and more lasting impact than any of us could achieve on our own.
