Faces of Philanthropy: Clara Melo De Paula
Clara Melo De Paula
Service & Communications Coordinator
This is my first professional job after graduating college, and it’s been an incredibly fulfilling experience. I especially enjoy the moments when we’re out in the community connecting with other nonprofit organizations and learning about the impact they’re making locally. A fun fact about me: I was born in Brazil, and in my free time, I love reading and hanging out with my ferrets!
A Quote to Inspire:
The impact we make as a community is far greater than what any one person can achieve alone.
Faces of Philanthropy Q & A with Clara Melo De Paula:
Q: What impact have you seen or experienced through Foundation-supported programs?
A: I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with all the 2023 and 2024 WPGC grant recipients and witnessing the incredible projects and positive change they’ve brought to our local community through the WPGC’s support.
Q: What’s one thing you’ve learned about philanthropy since working here?
A: Through this work, I’ve learned there’s true strength in unity. While one person can make a meaningful donation, a group of people working together can create lasting and powerful impact.
Q: What’s a cause or area of the Foundation’s work that’s especially close to your heart?
A: One area of The Catholic Foundation’s work that is especially close to my heart is our support of local nonprofits through grants. Seeing how these funds empower organizations to expand their reach, launch new initiatives, and directly serve those in need reminds me why this work matters and how every contribution plays a part in building a stronger, more compassionate community.
