Faces of Philanthropy: Sarah Luter
Sarah Luter
St. Margaret Mary
Founding WPGC Member
I am the Director of Communications for Bishop Moore Catholic High School. I develop and implement strategic plans to manage internal and external messaging, brand image, and public relations efforts through websites and social media, analyzing communication metrics to inform future strategies.
My ministry is the work I do at Bishop Moore, and while I may not personally run a food pantry or solve hunger, I am grateful to help make that work possible alongside the other members by supporting these ministries and the people who serve through them.
Faces of Philanthropy Q&A with Sarah Luter:
Q: What’s have you found most meaningful about membership in the Circle?
A: When I joined WPGC, my eyes were opened to the immense needs within our community, and to the incredible people who see those needs and respond with courage and faith. Many of these organizations stepped into something new, trusting that God would provide.
Q: Is there a Scripture verse or saint that inspires your generosity?
A: My favorite saint is Saint Carlo Acutis. His faithful life has had such a profound impact on our students at Bishop Moore, showing them that holiness is possible even at a young age. I especially admire how he used his gift for technology to evangelize, creating a website dedicated to Eucharistic miracles around the world. A few years ago, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Assisi, where I was able to pray before his remains, a deeply moving experience I will never forget.
Q: What kind of impact do you hope the Circle makes in our community?
A: What impresses me most about the WPGC is that while our combined membership fees support five or more nonprofits annually, the impact goes far beyond financial contributions. Awareness grows. Stories are shared. What we learn spreads into our own spheres of influence, creating opportunities to expand the reach of each mission.
Q: What message would you share with women considering joining?
A: I will never forget our very first year. At the end of the grant cycle, after supporting five incredible non-profits, our group collectively came to the same conclusion: we needed to do more. More women means more resources, and more resources mean greater support for the vital work these organizations are doing in our community.
