Members of the Women’s Philanthropic Giving Circle gathered at San Pedro Spiritual Center this month for a retreat led by the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary featuring presentations by Sister Maria Teresa Acosta SCTJM and Sister Kristi Bergman SCTJM. The retreat focused on the life of the first millennial saint, Blessed Carlo Acutis, and his devotion to the Eucharist and understanding of Eucharistic miracles.

Sister Kristi led a presentation on the story of Blessed Carlo Acutis. She highlighted how his life and work resonate with young people today. Carlo’s passion for using technology to share his faith was particularly inspiring, as he created a website that documents and explains various Eucharistic miracles.

Sister Maria Teresa followed with a presentation on the significance of Eucharistic miracles. She elaborated on how Carlo Acutis’ website has become a valuable resource for parishes worldwide, providing detailed research and testimonies about these miracles.

The Sisters also brought Blessed Carlo Acutis’ first-class relic for the attendees to venerate. The ladies had the unique opportunity to touch a religious article to Carlo’s relic, turning it into a third-class relic.
