June 2019 Dear Friends in Christ, This month, we joyously celebrated Father’s day and honored the men who play a key role in shaping faith for many families in the Diocese of Orlando. Fathers and Mothers partner together to create families that form a strong bedrock of Catholic life in Central Florida. Meanwhile, all of us – children, youth, families and adults – draw strength from The Lord, our Father in Heaven. This month, The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida partnered with generous donors like you to serve our Father in heaven through activities including a Catholic Investor Conference, a regional meeting with Catholic Foundation peers, and through the recent addition of new staff members who will help us to better serve you. So he got up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him. – Luke 15:20

2019 Investor Conference: Corpus Christi Catholic Church

Corpus Christi Logo Pastor Richard Trout opened the 2019 Investor Conference this month in graceful prayer at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration. He was followed by investment-and-philanthropy experts who explained how generous donors can establish endowments which provide funding into the future while expanding the power of their philanthropy through professionally managed investments that are socially screened to respect Catholic values. The event was a successful blend of the spiritual and financial. Attendees were treated to an overview of the stock market, the importance of long-term investing, and the emergence of financial portfolios focused on environmental and social issues. National philanthropy expert Colleen D. Mitchell explained how parishioners and families can connect their faith values with giving that builds their Catholic legacies. Please click here to read Colleen’s article about Catholic philanthropy. Catholic Stewardship Excellence

ICSC Logo The International Catholic Stewardship Council The International Catholic Stewardship Council (ICSC) is a Dearborn Heights, MI, organization that promotes Catholic stewardship throughout the world. This month, three members of the Foundation’s Community team – Marta Sweeney, Doris Quinones, and Shana Coulthurst – attended an ICSC regional meeting in Richmond, VA., to share and learn about best-practices with industry peers. The Catholic Foundation has a heritage of stewardship excellence: our organization has won ICSC’s top national award for Catholic stewardship in two of the past three years, and a total of 13 ICSC awards since 2009 in categories such as Annual Appeal, Planned Giving, and Capital Campaign. 2019 Campaign Team
