The curated list below contains, a comprehensive detail of the funds that are held for current or anticipated operational and capital needs of parishes, schools, and ministries within the Diocese of Orlando. Unlike endowment funds, reserve funds are not typically intended to be permanent, but rather serve as crucial savings or dedicated accounts for specific short to mid-term purposes.

Reserve Funds List

Annunciation Catholic Academy Capital  Reserve Fund

This reserve fund provides for the repair and replacement of the school’s capital assets and school capital improvements.

Ascension Catholic Church and School Charitable Quasi-Endowment Fund

The Ascension Catholic Church and School Endowment and Charitable Trust was established in October 1995 funding the initial investment with parish and school funds. Honoring the original Trust intentions and usage language, the fund corpus is established at $250,000.00 with the intention to permanently preserve the corpus of the Fund.

Funds shall be used to provide:
a) Tuition assistance that will make Catholic Education affordable to the children and adults of Ascension Parish, both in our Parish School and the Religious Education Catechesis.
b) Tuition assistance that will make Catholic Education affordable for the poor catholic children of our parish area.
c) To endow or supplement the salaries of the pastoral team, staff or faculty of Ascension Parish and/or School, individually, or in general, and to provide financial assistance which will foster their personal and professional growth provided that such assistance will be of benefit to the Parish and/or School and is endorsed and approved by the Pastor and/or Principal.
d) Scholarships, grants in aid and tuition payments to Ascension Pre-School, Elementary and Middle School for the benefit of present and prospective parish students of Ascension Parish provided no such payment shall be made for the benefit of students who are legally dependent for support upon the donor of such funds.
e) Enhance and increase the ministries, services, outreach efforts, property and buildings of Ascension Parish.
f) Enhance academic, counselling, athletic, or extracurricular programs approved and endorsed by the Pastor and/or Principal.
g) Supplement the special training of adult parishioners in Pastoral Ministries, preparation for the Deaconate, Religious Life and the Priesthood.
h) Supplement operational expenses of Ascension Catholic Church and School, provided that all other current needs in subsections “a” through “g” above have first been considered.

Basilica of St. Paul Church and School Quasi-Endowment Fund

This fund is restricted for any and all activities and any capital expenditures that are designed to improve and develop the spiritual and outreach life of St. Paul Catholic Church and School.  No funds will be used to supplement the daily operational expenses of the Church or School.

Bishop Grady Villas Temporarily Restricted Fund

Bishop Grady Villas provides residential, employment and life skills development to individuals with intellectual and development disabilities throughout Central Florida. This fund is designated to support Bishop Grady Villas in their areas of greatest need.

Bishop Moore Catholic High School 3-5 Year Reserve Fund

This fund was established to provide capital improvements, faculty and staff salaries, faculty and professional staff development, and student financial aid. The fund was started in the early 1990s by supporters of Bishop Moore Catholic.

Blessed Sacrament Harmony 3-5 Year Reserve Fund

This fund provides for the Music and Liturgy outreach programs at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Clermont including, but not limited to, the Living Last Supper and Christmas Concert.

Blessed Trinity Ocala Reserve Fund for Brother’s Keeper Ministry

This fund provides funding for operational needs or special projects of Brother’s Keeper, a ministry of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Ocala. Brother’s Keeper provides meals, emergency assistance and rental assistance to the needy in Ocala, Florida.

Blessed Trinity, Ocala 3-5 Year Reserve Fund

To provide funding for operations needs or special projects at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Ocala.

Catholic Panthers at Florida Tech Quasi-Endowment Fund

“- Operational support needed to achieve the mission of Catholic Campus Ministry at Florida Tech.

Future capital needs.”

Financial assistance to cover costs/fees associated with retreats and other CCM activities for students who might not otherwise be able to attend.

Central Florida Catholic Mercy Fund

Catholic Charities of Central Florida meets on-going and emergency needs throughout the Diocese of Orlando. Begun during the COVID 19 pandemic, this fund supports their service to residents of the Diocese in providing food, behavioral health, rent and utilities and other daily needs. Its growth provides resources for Catholic Charities to meet the increased needs during times of natural disaster or local crises.

CFOCF 3-5 Year Cash Reserve Fund

This fund support the general operations of The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida, Inc.

CFOCF 5+ Year Cash Reserve Fund

This fund support the general operations of The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida, Inc.

CFOCF 5+ Year Unrestricted Gifts Cash Reserve Fund

This fund provides for operational needs or special projects of The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida.

Charles “Chuck” Murray & Elizabeth “Betty” Murray Fund for Centro Guadalupano

This fund provides financial support to the Centro Guadalupano Catholic Mission in Wahneta, Florida. (unedited)

Church of Our Saviour Quasi-Endowment Fund

This fund supports the operations and special projects of the Church of Our Saviour.

Coto Family Fund

This fund provides financial assistance to families in need of support to pay tuition. The Matriarch of the family, Norma Coto, was a beloved former faculty member. Norma Coto was part of our World Languages Department and taught Spanish from 1971-2000.

Deacons 5+ Year Reserve Fund

This fund provides partial scholarships for deacon aspirants or candidates who cannot meet their share of the financial obligation during formation, for partial scholarships for deacons or deacon wives enrolling in courses to specify them as Spiritual Directors, Chaplains, Tribunal Advocates, or other specialized certifications which benefit the Diocese. Other uses may be determined by the Reserve Fund Distribution Committee which benefit the Diocese and Diaconate Office.

Deforest W. and Margaret Y. Bullard Scholarship 5+ Year Reserve Fund

This fund is restricted for school scholarships for needy and/or deserving students attending the Basilica School of St. Paul in accordance with the will of Margaret Y. Bullard.

Dr. Gerald Oswald Scholarship 5+ Year Reserve Fund

The intention is that after one full year of growth has been allowed, this Fund will distribute $4,000 annually to MCC for the purpose of a tuition scholarship until the Fund is depleted. The scholarship, with recipient determined by a Scholarship Committee at MCC, will recognize a hardworking incoming freshmen with outstanding grades who shows an interest in and aptitude for science and math, qualities the family values. The scholarships may continue for the next school based on review of scholarship winner performance. The MCC admissions office provides qualified candidates to the Dr. Gerald Oswald Scholarship Committee who in turn reviews candidates, interviews scholarship finalists, and selects the scholarship recipient.

The committee will evaluate a successful candidate for this scholarship on the following criteria:

o The student should have a strong academic profile that includes both “A” grades in math and science, no more than one “B” grade in English, social studies, theology, and world language and math and science test scores above the 85th percentile (the committee will use Terra Nova tests and the MCC required High School Placement Test)

o The student must submit a cover letter and original essay based on the given topic.

All committee decisions are final and there are no appeals of decisions

Elizabeth Buckley Scholarship Fund 5+ Year Reserve

This fund was established in memory of Elizabeth Buckley by her family. Elizabeth was an active teenager who loved lacrosse, painting and her school. Her fund provides tuition assistance annually to needy students of St. Margaret Mary Catholic School.

Emmaus 3-5 Year Reserve Fund

The Diocese of Orlando has established Emmaus, an independent living community for retired priests. This fund provides support for additional residences and/or buildings for the community.

Father Joseph Nolan Education Reserve Fund

The fund supports educational assistance to the children of registered parishioners of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church to attend Brevard County parish grade schools and/or Melbourne Central Catholic High School. The fund also supports annual school support and subsidies for diocesan schools.

Fr. Paul Kamide Fund for the Epiphany Help Center

The fund provides for food, household item, clothing and financial assistance for needy individuals and capital needs of the Epiphany Thrift Shop.

Hall Family Tuition Assistance Fund

This fund provides tuition assistance to select needy Bishop Moore High School students and meeting other criteria determine by the Halls and the school. Funds support 2 students at non-parish rate for 4 years each student.

Janice R. Lyons Memorial Scholarship Reserve Fund

This Fund will distribute $1,000 annually until the Fund is depleted to provide a tuition assistance scholarship to a Santa Fe High School student whose family has proven financial need with special reference to student circumstances such as single parent households, job loss or death in the family.

John Kevin Doyle Fund

This fund provides financial support to Bishop Moore faculty members for professional development. The purpose of the fund is to support teachers in their pursuit of advancement in their expertise in teaching. John Kevin Doyle, the oldest brother of President Thomas Doyle, was a faculty member at Benedictine University, Chicago. As a professor of Business, Kevin was passionate about improving his skills in education. Upon Kevin’s passing away from renal cancer, the Doyle family started this endowment in his honor.

Joseph Oswald Scholarship 5+ Year Reserve Fund

Morning Star Catholic School 3-5 Year Reserve Fund

Morning Star Catholic School is committed to providing each student with special needs thee opportunity to discover their gifts and achieve their personal best as children of God. This fund will be used to provide scholarships, loans, grants and other forms of financial assistance to Morning Star Catholic School students and to ensure the proper maintenance, function, and operation of the school.

Morning Star Catholic School 5+ Year Reserve Fund

Morning Star Catholic School is committed to providing each student with special needs thee opportunity to discover their gifts and achieve their personal best as children of God. This fund will be used to provide scholarships, loans, grants and other forms of financial assistance to Morning Star Catholic School students and to ensure the proper maintenance, function, and operation of the school.

Perrault Family Fund

This fund was established to assist those called to serve in Catholic vocations. Proceeds will provide tuition assistance and supplemental living expenses while on their religious formation. Paul Perreault ’75 responded to a call to priesthood, attended seminary, and during his discernment was called to the vocation of married life.

Resurrection Catholic Church, Lakeland Quasi-Endowment Fund

This fund supports the operations and special projects of Resurrection Catholic Church, Lakeland.

Robert Jonghyun Peterson Memorial Endowment Fund

This fund provides tuition assistance to a BMC student in need who has suffered the death of a parent. As an adolescent, Bob Peterson lost both of his parents to early deaths. He continued his Catholic school education at Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY, and Assumption College in Worcester, MA, due in part to the love and support he received from his Catholic community. Bob went on to attend graduate school at Georgetown University, where he met his wife, Jonghyun. They continued their commitment to Catholic education by sending all of their children to Catholic schools, including Bishop Moore.

General purpose.

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and School 3-5 Year Reserve Fund

This fund supports St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School.  School support includes  tuition assistance for both parish and non-parishioner Catholic students to attend the parish school, support for teacher’s salaries and professional development.  In addition, the fund provides support to parish students to continue their catholic education at Bishop Moore Catholic High School or Morning Star Catholic School.  Parish support includes religious education catechesis, to enhance and increase the ministries, services, outreach efforts, property and buildings  of the parish, to enhance academic, counselling, athletic, or extracurricular programs and to supplement the special training of adult parishioners in Pastoral Ministries, preparation for the Deaconate, Religious Life and the Priesthood.  If all other purposes have been fulfilled, the fund may support the general operations of St. Charles Borromeo Church and School.

St. James Cathedral School 3-5 Year Reserve Fund

This fund aids St. James Cathedral School in its area of greatest need. 

St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 5+Year Capital Reserve Fund

This fund provides resources for necessary capital projects for the long-term needs of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.  

St. Margaret Mary School Teacher Endowment Fund 5+ Year Reserve

This fund supports St. Margaret Mary School in the areas of operating or capital expenditures, tuition assistance scholarships,  technology, or instructional and staff development.   

St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church Quasi-Endowment Fund

This fund supports the operations and special projects of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church.

St. Matthew Catholic Church Quasi-Endowment Fund

This fund supports the operations and special projects of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Winter Haven.

St. Peter Catholic School 5+ Year Reserve Fund

This fund provides for operational needs of St. Peter Catholic School.

St. Thomas Aquinas 3-5 Year Reserve Fund

To provide funding for operations needs or special projects at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 5 +  Year Reserve Fund

This fund provides for operational needs or special projects of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

The Affordable Housing Fund

Central Florida faces a significant affordable housing shortage, particularly for low-income residents, including many elderly residents. The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida and Catholic Charities of Central Florida partner through this fund to support the planning, development and operation of affordable housing throughout the Diocese of Orlando.

The Shepherd’s Fund (INT POOL)

We are called to return our blessings to God and your generosity impacts lives. Jesus is for us the supreme model of the good shepherd who guards His flock with a love so great that He is willing to lay down His life for even one sheep who is lost. In his role as a shepherd of God’s people, the Bishop of Orlando is called to serve as the living presence of Jesus Christ in Central Florida. The Shepherd’s Fund is intended to provide the Bishop with a supplementary source of funds for addressing pressing needs, special projects, or extraordinary circumstances that are not covered by the diocesan budget and for which no other revenue source is available. As an unrestricted resource, The Shepherd’s Fund will give the Bishop the capacity to respond to emergency situations as they arise and the flexibility to embrace opportunities that might otherwise be lost.

The St. Stephen Catholic Community 5+ Year Reserve Fund

This fund provides for operational needs or special projects of  St. Stephen Catholic Community.

The St. Stephens Catholic Community 3-5 Year Reserve

This fund provides funding for the affordable housing ministry at St. Stephen Catholic Community and may also be used to provide for proper maintenance, function, and operation of the Parish.

Trinity Catholic High School 3-5 Year Reserve Fund

This fund supports the operations and special projects of Trinity Catholic High School.
