We are grateful for our priests, who have dedicated their lives to be at our side for life’s sacred moments: baptism, communion, marriage, and when we are called home to the Lord. They grace us with spiritual blessings and shelter that dignify our lives as God’s children. As they age, our retired priests are worthy of the same dignity and shelter they have shared with us. Through your generosity, our retired priests can be blessed with the sanctuary of a peaceful home at Emmaus, an independent living community on the holy grounds of the San Pedro Spiritual Development Center in Winter Park.
Emmaus will have 15 residences, each with 1,015-square-feet of living space, a porch, and carport. There will also be a Community Center for fellowship with each other, friends and family. The cost to build this ministry of blessing is $5 million and to properly care for this special place we wish to create a $1 million endowment (Emmaus Endowment Fund) to provide for ongoing maintenance, a source to support priests who are unable to afford the full monthly rental costs and a comprehensive care management program for its residents. The initial stage, 5 residences and the community center, will cost $2.5 million. As priests have lifted our lives by sharing God’s love, we ask that you prayerfully consider lifting their lives by making a gift below to support their retirement housing needs.
