Bill Dunn III, class of ’65 had a commitment and passion for Bishop Moore Catholic. His passing, in April 2023, ignited his classmates, teammates, and friends to raise funds to add his name to this scholarship.

Bishop Grady Villas Sr. Elizabeth Marie Stoup Endowment Fund

Sr. Elizabeth Marie Stoup, SSJ spent her religious life advocating for the sacred dignity of all God’s children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sister Elizabeth established this endowment to provide scholarships for Scholarship assistance for individuals with disabilities to be granted based on greatest need. Dawn Michelle Aberwald Memorial Endowment Fund

This endowment was started in memory of Dawn Aberwald by her family. Gifts from this endowment will be granted in the following manner: 50% is awarded to the Valedictorian of BMC to cover ancillary college expenses and 50% to assist a current student from St. Andrews Catholic School in financial need.

This fund was established in memory of Elizabeth Buckley by her family. Elizabeth was an active teenager who loved lacrosse, painting and her school. Her fund provides tuition assistance annually to students of St. Margaret Mary Catholic School.

Emmaus Endowment Fund

The Fund will be used to provide maintenance and upkeep of the Emmaus Independent Living Facility for Retired Priests of the Diocese of Orlando and a comprehensive care management program for retired priests residing at Emmaus. In addition, the fund may be used to provide financial assistance for any priest accepted for residency who is unable to pay the full monthly rental costs.

Established by the late Reverend Frank Zammit, this fund provides tuition scholarships to needy students in the Diocese of Orlando Catholic schools, with special consideration for the children of immigrants. Additionally, the fund provides for an annual essay contest on the Blessed Virgin Mary, for students in the Diocese of Orlando.

Fr. John Giel Endowment Fund for Incardinated Priest Sabbaticals

Father John Giel has served in many roles in the Diocese of Orlando since 1978 and is currently the pastor of Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merrit Island. Fr. Giel wishes to leave a legacy to the Diocese and its clergy to defray the cost of an official extended period away from current ministry for the purpose of ministerial, personal, spiritual and theological development and enrichment.

Fr. Joseph Nolan Education Endowment Fund

This fund was funded in honor of Fr. Joseph Nolan, the pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 26 years, who had an enduring interest in the young people of his parish. Kelly Reen Memorial Fund

Kelly Erin Reen was a graduate of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School and a Sophomore at BMC at the time of her passing (2008). Kelly was a member of the soccer and track teams and active in the Social Justice Club. Our “Belle” as she was called, had a gift for friendship. A memorial scholarship is awarded in her loving memory. A $1,000 award is granted each year to a graduating senior from BMC.

The Leonard Jones Endowment was established to support the growth and development of the computer science program at Bishop Moore Catholic High School. This endowment honors the legacy of Leonard “Pa” Jones, whose love, foresight, and commitment to family left a lasting impact. His grandson, Waymon Armstrong ’79, experienced firsthand the transformative power of a Bishop Moore education thanks to Pa’s sacrifice and belief in the importance of faith-based formation.

This fund was established in his bequest by Leonard T. (Pat) Murphy to assist Father Lopez students with annual scholarships.

Maria Boudet & de la Roza Family Endowment Fund

Beginning in 1966, Señora Maria Boudet taught Spanish at Bishop Moore for 25 years. She was beloved by her students, faculty, and staff. During her tenure, she helped initiate various Spanish courses, the Spanish club, and the Spanish Honor Society that promoted language learning and culture within the school community. Maria is a source of strength and inspiration to all who know her. This fund was established by her loving family to honor and continue Maria’s legacy of faith and quality teaching at Bishop Moore. The endowment will provide annual funding for technology enhancements and infrastructure as needed by the students and faculty.

Marie Nolin Scholarship Endowment

Established by Fr. Joseph Nolan in memory of his mother, this fund provides tuition support for needy students at St. James Cathedral School. The Rector of the Cathedral may, in consultation with the involved parties, provide tuition support from this fund to needy students at other Diocese of Orlando schools.

McCormack Family Charitable Endowment Fund

Ty and Kylan McCormack found a greater connection to their Catholic community during their Pre-Cana course and were inspired to create this endowment to benefit couples participating in the Diocese of Orlando’s marriage preparation program. The fund will provide resources for the Diocese of Orlando Office of Laity, Family, & Life to provide scholarships to needy participants to help cover the cost of marriage preparation activities to include Pre-Cana and Convalidation courses and retreats.

Throughout Sr. Dorothy’s 28 years of leadership, HFCS has enjoyed an impressive reputation of award-winning excellence in academics, religion, sports, and the arts. St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and School Endowment Fund

This fund supports both St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and St. Charles Borromeo parish school. School support includes tuition assistance for both parish and non-parishioner Catholic students to attend the parish school, support for teacher’s salaries and professional development. In addition, the fund provides support to parish students to continue their catholic education at Bishop Moore Catholic High School or Morning Star Catholic School. Parish support includes religious education catechesis, to enhance and increase the ministries, services, outreach efforts, property and buildings of the parish, to enhance academic, counselling, athletic, or extracurricular programs and to supplement the special training of adult parishioners in Pastoral Ministries, preparation for the Deaconate, Religious Life and the Priesthood. If all other purposes have been fulfilled, the fund may support the general operations of St. Charels Borromeo Church and School.

The Annunciation Catholic Academy Endowment and Charitable Trust

The Annunciation Academy’s endowment supports its long-term excellence through initiatives like tuition assistance and facility/program enhancements. The fund aims to make Catholic education more accessible and diverse by providing scholarships and financial aid to families in need, with the goal of supporting a significant percentage of students with 50% tuition assistance. The endowment also helps support improvements in facilities, equipment, curriculum, and other programs that tuition revenue alone might not cover.

The Bruno Family Endowment Fund

Adele and Lou Bruno understand the financial challenges large families face when pursuing a Catholic education for multiple children. As parents of seven Bishop Moore alumni, he Brunos often had three or four children enrolled at the same time. In recognition of these sacrifices, they have established an endowment to support “large families,” defined as those with two or more children currently enrolled at Bishop Moore, or one child at Bishop Moore with two or more siblings attending a Catholic partner school. The endowment is primarily intended to cover the $600 registration fee, but may also be used to assist with the cost of extracurricular activities, uniforms, books, and other incidental fees.

The Jillian Elizabeth Blais Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund

This fund, established in memory of Jillian Elizabeth Blais, provides tuition assistance of $2,000 to a needy current Father Lopez student entering the sophomore, junior, or senior year. The award may be renewed for additional years at Father Lopez under specific conditions.

The Men of Holy Family School Endowment Fund

This fund was established by The Men of Holy Family, a men’s ministry group at Holy Family Catholic Church Orlando.  The fund provides tuition assistance for deserving students attending Holy Family Catholic School. In addition the fund supports  the school’s needs for technology, facilities and maintenance, and staff and instructional development.  The fund may also support other relevant needs for the school.

The Michael Scheve Endowment Fund

Michael Lawrence Scheve, Class of ’98, played basketball and golf while attending BMC. This endowment helps with financial assistance for students in need at BMC and Morning Star Catholic School. Michael Scheve made the most of every single moment and touched countless people along his short, but spectacular journey.

The Sister Elizabeth Murphy Tuition Assistance Fund

The Fund, established in honor of Sr. Elizabeth Murphy, a beloved principal of St. John Vianney School, provides tuition assistance for deserving students attending St. John Vianney Catholic School.

The St. Teresa Catholic School Endowment Fund

This fund was created by a generous donor to support students at St. Teresa whose families do not have the resources to pay for tuition at the school.

The Sylvia Hope Horrigan Memorial Scholarship Endowment

This fund, established by generous donors supports tuition assistance and technological enhancements at Volusia County Catholic schools. Women’s Giving Circle Endowment

he Catholic Foundation of Central Florida launched the Women’s Philanthropic Giving Circle (WPGC) in the Fall of 2022. The WPGC is comprised of a diverse group of women who altruistically serve with purpose, impact, connection, and joy strengthening our community through values-based strategic, engaged, and collective philanthropy. Taking inspiration from Mary, mother of our Savior, we proclaim “Yes” to God’s call to active works of charity as witnesses of faith and hope. This fund was established to sustain and supplement WPGC’s ongoing legacy of impact in our community.

Xavier Leyva Quintana Scholarship Endowment Fund

This fund, established to honor Xavier Leyva Quintana by his family, celebrates his Catholic faith. The fund provides scholarship assistance to needy Latino students attending Santa Fe Catholic High School who require financial assistance. Students should be motivated to do well in school and possess a B (3.0) grade point average or better.
