The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida is honored to sponsor the Diocese of Orlando’s annual priest convocation which brings together priests from all around the diocese for camaraderie, Mass, Prayer Services, and educational sessions. Our booth was staffed by our team throughout the convocation as we engaged with priests on the services we provide which can support them, their parish staff, and parishioners.

The New CAP® Cohort 2023

The new cohort of the 2023 Central Florida Chartered Advisor (CAP®) in Philanthropy Study Group is launched! CAP® is a designation earned from The American College of Financial Services after the successful completion of three graduate level courses and exams. New PGAC Leadership

Darrell DeVaney Our new Chair of the Planned Giving Advisory Council, Darrell DeVaney, was one of our founding Planned Giving Advisory Council members. He was raised in the Orlando area, graduated from the University of Florida and dove straight into the financial planning and investment management industry. After helping clients navigate the bursting of the technology bubble, the financial crisis and housing meltdown, Darrell learned a lot about behavioral finance and the flaws of the investment industry. Emmaus Blessing

Bishop Noonan recently blessed the Emmaus Independent Living Community for Retired Priests on the grounds of San Pedro Spiritual Development Center in Winter Park. The Catholic Foundation gathered with other founding donors and The Diocese of Orlando Staff to welcome and celebrate with the new residents. When completed, Emmaus will have a dozen units available for retired priests to live in fellowship with one another. Thank you to all of the generous donors and supporters for working to bring Emmaus to fruition.

WPGC Grant Applicants

Members of The Catholic Foundation and the Women’s Philanthropic Giving Circle (WPGC) visited Samaritan Village, Harbor House, Central Florida Diaper Bank and The Pregnancy Center of Sanford. These nonprofits, serving women in our diocese, are finalists for WPGC grants which are intended to help ministries serve and strengthen families in our community. The WPGC will hold a Pitch Party for these finalists in September and grant awards will be announced in October.

Bishop Parkes Celebrates Anniversary

Bishop Stephen Parkes from The Diocese of Savannah celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood at Most Precious Blood Parish in Oviedo. Bishop Parkes was the founding pastor of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Oviedo and is the founding spiritual director of The Catholic Foundation board of directors. He was the pastor of Annunciation Catholic Church when he received the call in 2020 to serve as bishop for the Diocese of Savannah. To honor his call to the episcopacy, The Catholic Foundation established the Bishop Stephen D. Parkes Endowment for Catholic Campus Ministry where he served for many years.
